About

The Department of Industrial Management (DIM) is one of the earliest departments of Taiwan Tech, established with the foundation of the university (then called National Taiwan Institute of Technology) in 1974. Since its beginnings, our department has been devoted to applied research in key areas of industrial management, and has contributed to Taiwan’s industrial development by producing highly-skilled management personnel. In line with the School of  Management's strategic direction, the digital transformation of the manufacturing industry has been adopted as the overarching theme for the teaching and research at the DIM. With our significant research output in industrial management applications, the DIM has evolved into one of Taiwan’s most respected institutions in the field.

Our department excels in providing a combination of rigorous theoretical training and hands-on practical experience, with students actively engaged in government-funded research and industry-academia cooperation projects from the start of their studies. As reflected in our excellent employability rankings, we produce well-trained graduates who meet industries’ demands for a professional, globally-minded work-force. The DIM offers degree programs at all levels, and is also running a successful EMBA program (since 1990), where experienced management personnel is given the opportunity to upgrade their knowledge in current industrial management theories and applications. Our well-established master’s and doctoral programs have been attracting an increasing number of international students, who often choose careers in education and research after graduation, contributing to our reputation as an outstanding research institution in Taiwan and beyond.
Currently, our department boasts 28 full-time faculty members and approximately 640 students, with over 50% enrolled in postgraduate programs. Moreover, with more than 80 international students studying at the DIM, it is recognized as one of the most internationally diverse departments at Taiwan Tech.
